He said he did not review message content, had no independent knowledge of participant identities beyond the device information, was not a case agent, and had no other involvement in the case.

Objections confined parts of the examination to Troiano's assigned work and the information displayed on the chart. After a sidebar clarified that groups had been removed or redacted for several reasons, the court said a disputed question had created a misleading impression. By agreement, the question and answer were stricken, and the jury was instructed to disregard them.
